Prince Charles: This explanation dinner he planned with Prince Harry

According to the indiscretions of the Daily Mail, Charles has recently planned a dinner for two with Harry. An appointment “dreaded” by the Prince of Wales, after the explosive interview of the couple from Sussex in front of Oprah Winfrey.

Are the tensions between Prince Charles and his son about to ease? In any case, it seems that the son of Queen Elizabeth II has tried to make a step towards Prince Harry recently. On Thursday, July 1, William’s brother traveled to London to unveil the statue in tribute to his late mother, Princess Diana. On the occasion of this trip, his father would have planned to meet him for a dinner for two, according to a source close to the Prince of Wales, relayed by the Daily Mail this Sunday, July 11.

Prince Charles was in Scotland on the day of the ceremony, leaving his two sons alone. Nevertheless, he intended to return to London to exchange with Prince Harry, following the interview punch given to Oprah Winfrey, according to the same source. Nervous, the former husband of Lady Di “dreaded” this appointment. And for good reason, he feared that some words would be misinterpreted, and repeated to Meghan Markle upon the return of the Duke of Sussex in California. However, it is not known if this meal took place.

An irreversible situation?

According to some experts, it is difficult to imagine a possible reconciliation between Prince Harry and his father. Interviewed in the documentary Charles & Harry: Father and Son Divided, biographer Tom Quinn believes that the gap between the two “has widened considerably”, and that a comeback is unlikely. “I think if they’re not careful, it’s going to be very difficult to bridge that gap in the future,” he adds. Grant Harrold, Prince Charles’ former butler, agrees: “The damage is done. And it makes me sad because the relationship I knew, which was a loving, caring, fun relationship, can never be like that again.”
